Review: BOGS Boots for all the family

Review: BOGS Boots for all the family

Over the last couple of months me and Finn have each been road testing a pair of BOGS insulated boots. I’ve been a massive fan of BOGS ever since Finn had his first pair of Baby BOGS, and so I was very excited to get my hands on a pair for myself.

I tried out a pair featuring the ‘Classic Pansies’ design (RRP £95), while Finn went for the smart ‘Durham Stripes’ version (RRP £55). As you can imagine, with the wintry weather lately, they have been very well tested!

The snow has provided a great backdrop to test our insulated BOGS boots

I was gutted when Finn outgrew his last pair, so I am very happy that he’s got the chance to try out this new pair. As always I got him some boots that are a little on the large size so they last as long as possible (it used to annoy me so much when my mum did this, but I can’t help myself!). These BOGS boots have all the features that I love: they’re waterproof, insulated and have handles so Finn can pull them on and off himself. It’s always great knowing that whatever the weather, he’s wearing boots that are going to keep his feet warm and dry all day.

We found lots of puddles to test out our BOGS boots

As you can see from the state of them in the picture above, these boots have had lots of use. In fact, wherever we’re going, even if it’s just to the shops, Finn will reach for his BOGS! They are probably a bit more expensive than I would usually spend, but they are so hard wearing and such good quality that I think they’re worth the investment. I particularly like the sturdy grip, perfect for muddy walks. I’m seriously struggling to think of anything negative to say about them.

The hardwearing BOGS boots are perfect for family outdoor adventures

After seeing how great the kid’s boots are, I was excited to try some out myself. I don’t tend to wear wellies very much, I tend to find them a bit cold and a bit big around the calves. My BOGS boots however, are warm and cosy and fit snugly around my legs.

I love the look of my BOGS, and they feel great. Nothing like traditional wellies!

I still prefer to wear walking boots if we’re going out on a hike, but for muddy trips to the park and days out, these are perfect. They are, however, almost too nice to get mucky! I tend to wear them when we’re not doing anything too strenuous and maybe heading to the pub for lunch. As much as I am one for practicalities, it’s nice to have some outdoor gear that also looks so lovely.

As with the children’s version, I’m struggling to find a negative. They are super warm and comfortable, have lots of grip and are 100% waterproof. I also really liked the fact that my feet stayed dry and didn’t get sweaty and clammy-something I have found with boots in the past.

Overall, I have been really impressed with our BOGS boots, and I’m looking forward to wearing them well into spring.

We were gifted two pairs of BOGS boots in exchange for this post. All opinions are my own (and Finn’s!)

We're going on an adventure

You really can’t beat a good pair of wellies! I have had my Mountain Warehouse ones for 3 years and they have been brilliant but they are not insulated. I will have to check out BOGS. Sarah #adventurecalling

these look very durable, something I need for my little one as we go walking a lot and all of his wellies (which aren’t cheap ones) always end up with tares.

It’s funny, I baulked at the prices of Bogs, but when you think about it, a pair of decent walking boots can cost a huge amount, and wellies should last a long time really, so not as expensive as you first think. #adventurecalling

  • These look great. Our youngest refuses to wear wellies but I don’t know if it was because they were uncomfy. I love Finn’s all in one too. Where is it from? #adventurecalling

These look great. Balancing being waterproof and warm is usually an issue with children’s outdoor boots so these definitely have that covered. They look awesome too. #adventurecalling
