How to enjoy Autumn nights
As the clocks go back this weekend, battery and technology experts VARTA, have joined together with their longstanding partners, Mountain Rescue England and Wales (MREW) and the British Cave Rescue Council (BCRC), to produce a guide to help families enjoy the darker nights.
As well as the clocks changing, the 29th October also marks Mountain and Cave Rescue Awareness Day, so VARTA have put together lots of tips and safety advice to help everyone enjoy the autumn nights. Additionally, they have used findings from a recent study by the Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE) to highlight the issue of light pollution. As well as giving advice on how to stay safe and be seen, the guide also uses the ‘Night Blight’ study to show the best places to get a clear view of the night sky.
Did you know that many children, particularly in rural areas, have never seen the Milky Way due to the levels of light pollution. For an exciting adventure this autumn, why don’t you download your free guide to enjoying autumn nights and get outside?
