Why you Need a Running Vest

Why you Need a Running Vest

I have run for many years without needing a running vest, in fact without even giving it much thought. But recently, as I mentioned in my last post, I have been running home from work on a regular basis and I suddenly find myself needing some more pockets.

Also, whenever I take the boys out, i.e to Junior Parkrun, out on their bikes or even just to play basketball at the park, I need plenty of storage for drinks and snacks but don’t want to be weighed down with a big backpack. I suddenly realised that a running vest could be the obvious solution.

I also thought that I could use it for walks and hikes in the summer months, when you don’t have to carry waterproofs and extra layers.

I didn’t want to spend too much, so I had a quick look on Amazon and quickly saw that there were hundreds of different styles, ranging from harness type ones with just enough room for a phone, to ones that are really mini backpacks.

I wanted one with plenty of pockets and at least one, if not 2 zip up pockets. I came across one that looked perfect and was a bargain at just £7.99. (Full disclosure, the seller I got mine from seems to have sold out, but this one is the exact same, just at £12.99 https://amzn.to/4lZY0WA affiliate Amazon link)

I didn’t have the highest expectations, given it’s low price, but I’m always willing to be proven wrong. If you want to see what I thought, I’ve put together a video review here)

Let me know if you have any recommendations for a good running vest.
