How to Make Your Outdoor Adventures More Comfortable

Fishing, hunting, camping, hiking . . . aside from being fun, what do these activities have in common? For starters, they are all outdoor activities, which means they are ideal for people who like chasing adventures and finding challenges along the way. However, they have one other thing in common: they can be quite uncomfortable. Since these are outdoor activities, you often need to deal with things like bugs, severe weather conditions, or uncomfortable accommodation. This can entirely ruin the experience. That’s why we’ve put together this handy list of ways to make your outdoor adventures more comfortable.

A generator
Look, camping is great, but most people will admit that – while they enjoy roughing it – they also miss a few luxuries. While you may not be able to have a setup that offers everything your home offers, you can still make camping quite comfortable by having a generator. No more reading by torchlight, or struggling to cook your meals when the fire goes out. No more running to the car to charge your phone or having your food go off because you don’t have a fridge. Sounds good, right? Of course, a generator isn’t your only option. You can always get a campsite with electricity, or use a 200-watt solar panel.

Pack the right clothes
When it comes to any outdoor activity, there are a few rules as to what you should wear to remain comfortable. First of all, wear clothes that won’t chafe. Jeans, for example, may not be ideal for long hikes. Second of all, you should always have protection against the sun – so a hat is of the utmost importance. Thirdly, you should always dress in layers, so that you can switch things up as the weather changes. Finally, you need comfortable shoes. You can read more about good hiking footwear here.

Your tent
Most outdoor activities that are overnight will require you to stay in a tent. But tents can be uncomfortable, especially if you’re sharing and it’s a small tent. Or the weather is severe. Or the ground is hard. Basically, at tent can make or break your adventure, which is why it’s a good idea to invest in a decent tent, especially if you camp often. You can click here to learn more about what to look for in a tent. On top of that, the inside of your tent should be comfortable. You should have somewhere comfortable to sleep, as well as extra blankets to keep you warm.

Water filter
Everyone knows how important water is, especially if you’ve been out in the sun all day. But finding clean water can often be a hassle, leaving you with these options: either you break your back by carrying many bottles of water, or you drink unclean water. Or . . . get a water filter or purifier. This way, you can make sure that any water you come across can be turned into clean and drinkable water. We don’t know about you, but that sounds like the best option for us. Not to mention that it’s always handy to have a water filter in case of an emergency.

What is your favourite bit of outdoor kit that you never leave home without?
