Haven Seashore Review 2025
From the outset let me say that we paid for this holiday plus all activities, food and drinks and are under no obligation to post this review.
It has taken me a few weeks to get round to writing a proper review of Haven Seashore, but I feel like our holiday was so busy that I needed a bit of time to digest it all!

As you know, we are campers through and through and usually camp, occasionally glamp, but haven’t really ventured into caravan holidays so far. I love camping, but even I have to admit that putting up a tent and packing away at the end is not fun. We have got it down to a fine art, but it still takes time and effort and honestly, when it rains while you’re packing away the tent, that is the absolute pits.
I thought that anything other than camping would be over our budget, but decided to take a look anyway. I have felt so tired lately that I fancied a holiday where my bed was ready and waiting for me! I basically just googled ‘caravan sites with the best waterpark’ and Haven Seashore came up near the top. We love Norfolk and it’s an area we know, so I investigated further.
It seemed to tick all our boxes so I booked a little holiday from Monday to Friday of May half term.
First Impressions
We had a check in time of 4-5pm so arrived on Monday afternoon. You can pay for a specified check in time, but we were happy to take what we were allocated. You can arrive up to 2 hours before to use the facilities.
We arrived on site and our first impressions were very good. Every member of staff we interacted with from arrival onwards were super friendly and helpful. We all agreed that this really contributed to the whole experience and made it feel like a much more expensive holiday.
Accomodation
Our accommodation was a saver caravan, which is the most budget friendly level of accommodation offered. I was a little apprehensive, as they are not big caravans and Luke is 6 foot 3, plus the kids take up a lot of space! (I’m a really bad blogger and didn’t take any pictures of the caravan, but you can see a good representation online here)
I needn’t have worried, the caravan was plenty big enough for us. It was very clean and had everything you could need for a self catering holiday. Our bedroom had a double bed in, with room around it and storage space. The boys room was a twin, although the beds were quite short. It was fine with two younger kids, but I think that if they were teenagers we would have struggled.
We had a small shower room, and again I was worried Luke wouldn’t fit in it (to be fair he often struggles) but it was fine. It isn’t huge and again, with older children/teenagers, I would consider upgrading to bronze or even silver for the extra space.
On arrival we discovered that our dining table was broken, to the point that it was unusable. There is a ‘First Impressions’ feedback form on the app which I filled in (or tried to, there is no wifi in the caravans, which proved to be a big inconvenience throughout the holiday). I eventually managed it, and reported the table. I was called back very quickly and while we were out a maintenance person fixed the table and left a note to say what they had done.
Also , one evening our electricity went off in the caravan. I called the 24hr security line and a very helpful man turned up a couple of minutes later to sort it out. Again, we were very impressed with how quickly the problem was dealt with and the good service really made Seashore stand out.
Location
Haven Seashore is located in between Great Yarmouth and Caister and has direct access to the beach. This, along with the pool, was another reason I booked this site.

We didn’t have great weather all week, but we still managed to venture down to the beach a couple of times.
It was a bit cold for swimming, but we enjoyed walking along the beach and flying our kite. It was a great place to relax on an evening after a busy day.

Great Yarmouth and all its attractions is about 2.5km away, there is a bus stop directly outside Haven Seashore, plus there is a land train which runs between the site and Britannia Pier.
Activities
Swimming is included if you book a Haven holiday (there is a cheaper ‘Haven Hideaway’ option which just includes accommodation and access to the restaurants and arcades) so we were entitled to 14 sessions over the 5 days. As there are 4 of us, this meant we could go swimming together 3 times. The pool was a huge hit. It has 2 flumes, slides and an aquapark (which both boys loved, although Finn was probably a little old for it). There is also a 25m pool and a toddler area. Each session was an hour long and I feel that was sufficient. The first day we went (Tuesday) was quite busy, but the two subsequent sessions were quieter with shorter queues for the flumes.
You can book activities before you arrive on the app, so I booked NERF training camp for the boys. They were both super excited about it, unfortunately it rained a lot while they were doing it, but they still really enjoyed it. I will probably book this if we go to Haven again, it cost £10 each for 45 mins.
I didn’t book anything else in advance as I wanted to see how we felt when we were there. I didn’t want to book a lot of things and then spend the whole holiday rushing around. As it happened, we found ourselves with a bit of spare time so I booked some more activities.

Finn did the Vertical Challenge, which was an obstacle course but vertical, while Ollie did the Junior jump – basically jumping from a platform onto a big crash mat. He loved unleashing his inner Spiderman! They both really enjoyed these activities, and are eager to try more if we go back. Ollie was disappointed he was too young to do the higher jump as that has to wait until he’s 8, but if we go again he will be 7, so there will be more options available to him.
With all of the guided activities, the Haven staff were fantastic and provided a really enjoyable experience for the boys. I could see how much fun they were having and they were both full of it after their activities.

We did also play a round of crazy golf as we had some time to fill. It was fun, and at £5 each wasn’t too expensive for a family activity. It wasn’t the most exciting course and I don’t think we would do it again, but it passed the time and it was nice to do something all together.
Entertainment
There is evening entertainment in the bar every night for the whole family. We didn’t join in very much, although I did make Luke play bingo one night! We tended to have a couple of drinks and then go back to the caravan for food and games.
The boys were very taken with the arcade, especially the 10p and 2p machines, they both rushed off there at any opportunity and saved their tickets up for some prizes at the end of the holiday.
Food and Drink
We planned to cook for ourselves most nights, but once we were in the holiday mood we were easily tempted by some of the many offerings at Haven Seashore.
On the first night we treated ourselves to a Papa Johns. It was tasty as ever and it was great that we could have it delivered to our table in the bar. Unfortunately, there was a bit of a wait but I put that down to a busy first night and it being a bank holiday probably didn’t help.

We also had a Burger King one day for lunch and on the last morning we had breakfast in The Coast House restaurant, which was a lovely way to end our holiday. There are other options available, like the Pizza Deck and a fish and chip van, but as I say we mostly cooked in the caravan.
The kitchen had a microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster, gas hob and oven, plus all the pots and pans you could need. It also had plenty of crockery and cutlery, which makes a change. The only thing it seemed to be missing was a decent sharp knife, which I would take next time, along with a chopping board (there is a glass one provided). There is a Tesco supermarket a 5 minute drive away, there is also a small shop on site for essentials.
Would we do a Haven Holiday Again?
All four of us had a fantastic time at Haven Seashore. The boys especially loved it and are desperate to return. They both said it was their favourite holiday ever, which honestly made me nearly cry as it was great to see them have so much fun.
I was very impressed with our accommodation, it wasn’t huge, but had everything we needed and plenty of space for us all (although we are used to holidaying in a tent!) There were a couple of minor issues, but these were sorted incredibly quickly and efficiently.
Having access to the pool and loads of brilliant activities was an absolute game changer. There was so much choice and all very reasonably priced. The boys are very keen to experience more.
The only drawback is the lack of wifi in the caravan. It wouldn’t be so bad if there was a decent signal, but honestly we weren’t even able to use mobile data. This was frustrating when it made it difficult to use the app to book activities or order food, or even just look anything up. There is wifi available in the Marina Lounge, so we headed there a couple of times with my laptop to get things sorted.
Now we know we’ll be better prepared and download some films etc, as the boys did get a bit bored of watching Cbeebies all week, although I think they secretly enjoyed being reacquainted with Bluey!
In short, we all had an amazing time and will definitely be heading back to Haven. It had everything you could need for a great family holiday and, for the facilities available, was very affordable.
