Review: Samsung Galaxy Fit3 Smartwatch
I had had my previous smartwatch, an Amazfit GTS mini for a few years and it was starting to show its age. The strap had snapped and I felt that the battery wasn’t holding a charge as long as it used to.
I debated getting a new strap, but thought I would take a look around and see if there were any bargains to be had. As I have a Samsung phone and therefore already have the Samsung health app, I took a look at their range of smartwatches and came across the Samsung Galaxy Fit3 smartwatch.
It was on offer at £49 at John Lewis, plus had a special Samsung discount of £20 off (and I got my staff discount), so it cost me the princely sum of £23.
First Impressions
First impressions were very good, the Samsung Galaxy Fit3 felt more premium than my previous watch and looked very stylish. By and large it has all of the same functionality, i.e daily activity tracker, sleep tracking, heart rate monitor and exercise recording.
I have done a quick video explaining the main features.

How to connect your Samsung Fit3 to Strava
In the video I explained that it was a little tricky to connect to Strava, but I seem to have got it sorted now. Here is how to connect your Galaxy Fit3 to Strava.
Open the Samsung Health App and click the 3 dots in the corner and select settings. Then you want to select ‘services’.

The only drawback so far is that it doesn’t automatically upload every workout to Strava, but that is not a deal breaker. It does upload my walks and runs, which account for the majority of my exercise activities, so that’s the most important thing. Anything else, eg yoga or strength workouts, I have to manually upload.
All in all, considering the price I paid, I am very happy with the Samsung Fit 3. There’s very little to choose between this and the Amazfit. I think it probably comes down to whether or not you already have a Samsung device, as that does make it easier to use a Samsung watch.
