Useful Bits of Kit for Your Trip into Nature

Camping holidays and staycations have become increasingly popular in recent years. Many people have realized that there are wonderful locations right on your doorstep, you just need to go out and find them. Whilst you are doing that though you need to make sure that you have all of the kits and gadgets to make your trip enjoyable. So instead of perusing the next prepping blog, you can find a few things here to get you started before you start your next journey into nature.

The Trusty Rucksack

Having a good and reliable rucksack is one of the most essential pieces of equipment you need for camping. Make sure that you find a durable, waterproof, and lightweight one with loads of pockets and sections. This will help keep you organized and make sure that you can pack everything you need. Some rucksacks even have accessories that allow you to have access to your water without removing your backpack which can be really useful on your next hike.

Hiking Boots

You need to get a decent pair of hiking boots if you are heading on an adventure in nature. A sturdy pair of boots will be able to put up with the worst of the weather and keep comfy for you when you are traveling across tough terrain. One handy tip to have is to have a change of shoes with you so when you finish your hike then you can change into comfy trainers. This will stop you from dragging mud everywhere and give your boots a break.

A Water Bottle

It is so important that you keep your body hydrated when you are out in nature. You again need one that is sturdy and durable for all of the different environments that you are going to go. These days some bottles can maintain temperatures for hours at a time. These are really worth the investment. You can have water that is cooled from the fridge hours later or even use them for hot drinks. Plus, they often come in fun and memorable colours.

First Aid Kit

It pays to be prepared when you are heading into the wild. If you come to hurt yourself on your adventure, then you want to make sure that it does not become something serious. This is why you should always make sure to pack and double-check a first aid kit. Do a quick inventory on the one that you take with you in case you have run out of anything. A basic first aid kit should have something to clean any wounds and dress them as well as pain medication that is within date.

Going Back to Nature

There is nothing quite as liberating as pulling up to a lovely campsite and reconnecting with nature. However, this can all quickly go wrong if you aren’t prepared. Make sure to do some research into the area you plan on traveling to so that you know what you need. Then all you have to do is get yourself
there.

    A great article, thank you.

Another essential item for me is, at least, a smartphone (in a sturdy case/cover) with the What Three Words or Ordnance Survey locator apps loaded PLUS a battery pack. If I’m on the moors, miles from the nearest road, I’ll pack a trusty paper map in a waterproof pouch with a compass
