Where to go Pumpkin Picking In Northamptonshire 2019
In recent years Halloween has become a big deal in the UK (just ask my 4 year old who spends all year deciding on his costume!), plus pick your own fruit and veg has soared in popularity. So what is the logical outcome? That’s right- PYO pumpkins in Northamptonshire! With lots of outdoor family fun to be had, as well as some Instagram friendly photo opportunities, a local pumpkin patch is a great day out for everyone.
Here’s a round up of the best PYO pumpkins near to Northamptonshire this year. I’ve also added a few in our neighbouring counties which are worth a visit if you have access to transport.
Overstone Grange Farm, Moulton, Northamptonshire
Hot on the heels of their roaring success with PYO sunflowers this summer, Overstone Grange Farm are now trying their hand at pumpkins. The farm will be open for pumpkin picking from 10am on 19th October, until they’ve all gone-so get there quickly if you want to grab yourself a pumpkin.
West Lodge Rural Centre Desborough, nr Kettering
West Lodge is a great family day out at any time of year, but they really go all out for Halloween, with pumpkin carving, spooky tractor rides, ghost stories and much more running over half term.
Mini Meadows Farm, Welford, Northamptonshire
Mini Meadows is a firm favourite in our house, and they are running a pumpkin event from 19th-31st October. Join them to find your perfect pumpkin from the pumpkin patch and then have fun carving your own jack o lantern. Normal farm park entry plus £3 per pumpkin. No need to pre-book.
Grove Farm, Ivinghoe, Leighton Buzzard
Grove Farm PYO covers an impressive 80 acres and has a wide variety of fruit and veg available to pick from June to October, including pumpkins in September and October.
Cattows Farm, Heather, Leicestershire
Cattows Farm have a staggering 100,00 pumpkins, squashes and gourds available to pick from 1st October. They also have a farm shop and tearoom on site. They are situated in the heart of the National Forest, so it’s a great base for exploring the woodland.
Hill Farm PYO, Chesterton, Peterborough
Hill Farm is a family run PYO and farm shop. They offer a range of fruit and veg available to pick from June-October, including squashes and pumpkins. They offer light refreshments and there is also a play area.
