West Runton Beach, Norfolk

One of the highlights of our recent trip to Norfolk was a morning at West Runton Beach. We parked in the car park on Water Lane (NR27 9QP) which costs £2.50 for the day. There are also public toilets and a small cafe here.

It’s been a year since we last went to the coast, so it was lovely to have a wander along the beach. One side is stony and great for rock pooling.

It was great to relive my childhood and explore some rock pools

I loved the rockier side of the beach, such a dramatic landscape!

The other side of the beach, heading east towards Cromer, is lovely and sandy. We went for a walk and let Finn stretch his legs. We planned to walk a bit further but the tide was coming in and it was getting harder to stay dry! It is an easy walk to Sheringham, or Cromer along the coast path if you’d like to cover a few more miles.

Despite the cloudy start, it was warm and we were lucky to have the beach almost to ourselves.

The tide was coming in quickly as we walked along the beach

For land locked Midlanders like us, it was great to have a near-empty beach to explore. If I lived near the sea I don’t think I’d be able to stay away!

Are you  fan of the coast or a confirmed landlubber?

I love a good rockpool beach! Could spend hours pottering around in them (well, at least until the tide comes in).

We live about an hour away from the North Norfolk coast and there are still beaches we haven’t visited – including this one! It looks stunning with those gorgeous big skies that Norfolk does so well.

Oh how beautiful!! I love the coast! I still haven’t made it to the coast this year, I need to do something about that. It’s not even that far to travel, it just sort of slips my mind amidst all the other places we want to go to.

My husband loves rock pooling! he’s forever got his hand in them haha!

I know-there’s so many worthy places to visit. It’s only when I’m there, smelling the fresh sea air, that I remember how much I love the coast!

Yes, we have great beaches in this country & we’re not really that far from the sea anywhere (although I wouldn’t mind living closer-lucky you!)

We’ve always lived near the sea and I can’t imagine life otherwise. There’s always something different happening on the shoreline. This looks like a lovely beach walk #MondayEscapes

You’re so lucky, although it does mean that I am always so excited when we get anywhere near the sea!
