Carsington Water

Carsington Water

We fancied a lazy Sunday afternoon stroll whilst we were in the Peak District a couple of weeks ago, so headed to Carsington Water. We left the baby carrier behind as the paths around the reservoir are pushchair friendly. We parked in the Sheepwash car park (DE4 4DD) along with a very big and boisterous group of huskies and their humans. Luckily we soon left them behind and walked the 2 or so miles to the visitor centre. (See here for a map) We had a quick bite to eat in the restaurant overlooking the water and a quick nappy change for baby. It’s about 8 miles around the whole water and we felt this was a little ambitious, so after a look around the shops we headed back to the car.

Once again we had been blessed with better than expected weather. It was a lovely, chilled walk with lots to look at. Despite a few slopes, it was mainly flat and the paths were fine for the pushchair.

It’s always better if I shut up at this point and just let the photos do the talking (especially as I took the first 3 myself!)
